The Aquatic exercise fundamentals course is an innovative & evolving introduction for those wanting to expand their knowledge & skills in water immersion experiences.Become competent and confident in delivering high performance, water effective and safe aquatic movement programs for a broad spectrum of populations.
Globally the exercise industry is in a constant state of adaptation, and aquatic exercise is seeing an even further surprising boom in popularity being documented as one of the five top preferred outdoor safest forms of exercise for during the SARS COVID-2 pandemic.Water exercise offers dynamic workout experiences for incredibly diverse populations. Aquatic exercise has countless benefits for most health conditions, does not discriminate on one’s ability, age or gender and may well be our exercise of the future.NASA itself has been training astronauts in their neutral-buoyancy lab, designed to simulate the feeling of weightlessness in space for over two decades. According to a WHO ( World Health Organisation ) report on guidelines for safe water exercise environments, as long as mandatory chlorine levels are maintained and social distancing maintained, there is no evidence to date of the virus being transmitted.
The AEF offers creative training options and opportunities for the personal trainer, sports coach, exercise physiologist, health spa facilitator and other movement professionals.

Candidate requires :
A.Provide First Aid ( HLTAID003 ) to register
N.B If the candidate desires to gain Australian national recognition post this course, they will need to obtain an independent certificate iii / iv in fitness and source a RTO to apply for their own RPL ( recognised prior learning ) process.If the intention is to become an independent industry subcontractor, then they will also need to seek their own personal indemnity insurance.There are various fitness registration bodies such as Fitness Australia, FitRec Australia, Physical Activity Australia, Australian strength and conditioning Australia, Sports medicine Australia and exercise & sports science Australia. Fitness registration is highly encouraged and recommended by aquawellbeing.
This course has been deemed highly compliant by three RTOs to date and please note will be updated in 2022 to align with the revised Aqua Skills package in which aquawellbeing served on the national training advisory committee.
COURSE STRUCTURE:
1.Attend the virtual real time “let’s immerse” online introduction session.This is a pre-scheduled date that provides a support overview of course structure, provides an introduction to aquatic exercise, current Industry opportunities plus allows candidates a FAQs time prior to course immersion.
2.Complete a combination of self directed manual reading & review questions plus attend a variety of aquatic exercise session types. Allow 10-12 hours external to the course to give yourself the time and space to achieve solid outcomes. There will be a select section of theory review questions required prior to physically attending the one day practical intensive ; this is outlined in the introductory “let’s immerse” session.
3.Attend the 11 hour face to face combination of virtual real time, theory and practical intensive sessions. Either option may be attended face to face or entirely virtual real time for interstate / overseas candidates. This component provides important focused mentoring support to refine your skills and an early opportunity for a practical mock industry feedback support sessions, to have you confident to immerse into the diverse aquatic water world.
4.Complete an Industry standard practical assessment with a registered Aquatic exercise professional and for national recognition source a RTO provider to gain recognised prior learning to meet compliance for national standards.It is highly recommended, but not obligatory, to submit a filmed session to aquawellbeing for further consultation support prior to entering the industry.
Cover current aquatic evidence based exercise science, essential safe workplace practice and learn how to deliver high performance functional sessions for general healthy and modification skills for special populations. Be confident, and networked into an Industry with diverse possibilities.
